The colonial zone of Santo Domingo, to celebrate your destination wedding?

If you and your partner are history lovers, the colonial zone of Santo Domingo may be a fantastic option for you to celebrate your destination wedding.

Santo Domingo’s most historic neighborhood is at the same time its prettiest, most romantic, lively, and culturally rich. With more than 500 years of history, once the home of Spanish colonialists, the beautiful walled city was built as a model for the rest of the Americas.

Today is a beautiful area brimming with locals, museums, churches, small bars, shopping, theaters, restaurants, and parks.

Stay in a colonial home turned boutique hotel, stroll the pedestrian Calle El Conde, dotted with small shops, sidewalk cafés and street-side art, and dine across lantern-lit plazas.  Along the way, visit the oldest landmarks in the Americas, including the first cathedral, the first paved street, the first monastery, the first hospital, the first university, and the first military fortress.

Is a city ultimately build to be the first of its’ kind, wouldn’t be the perfect city to celebrate the first day of the rest of your life together?
